Finding a Good Manicurist

When you stop to think about it, our nails are on display all the time. Along with our faces, they are the part of our body that gets seen the most. Since people form opinions of us based on the appearance of our fingernails, it is important to keep them clean and manicured. The trick is finding a good manicurist. You want to make sure that they are going to turn your fingernails into something you will be proud of.

The first thing you need to do is make sure that the manicurist you are considering is licensed. This shouldn’t be a problem, the manicurist is suppose to keep it displayed in a prominent place.

Set aside a chunk of time that you can use to sit in the salon and watch the prospective manicurist work. This will accomplish two things. You will be able to gauge the speed and quality of the manicurist work and you will also be able to get a feel for the manicurist personality. This is someone you are going to be spending a great deal of time with, you want to make sure the two of your are going to get along. You shouldn’t feel self-conscious about this observation period, good salons expect people to get a feel for their work before making an appointment.

In addition to making sure that you are going to be getting a great manicurist you also want to make sure that the salon is clean and well managed. There should be plenty of towels and that the equipment is cleaned after each customer.

Once you have chosen a found a manicurist you like, make sure you treat them with respect. If you can’t make it to an appointment, make sure you cancel far enough in advance that they can book someone else for the slot. Be friendly and honest, and don’t forget to tip.
